Our Story

Anne Haas, Co-Owner
Anne’s background in graphic design really shines in our numerous projects with client’s personal photos. We often guide our clients to showcase their proud family moments in a gallery wall that reflects the personality of the homeowner. Anne is our photo and art guru, and often takes the lead in creative direction. She enjoys putting pattern and color together and helping our clients to let their homes really be their proud moment, regardless of the budget. She is responsive and collaborative.

Jen Tucker, Co-Owner
Jen uses her background with furniture sales and home organization to ensure that every dollar is spent wisely when it comes to those big purchases. She can educate the client on the value of one item over another. We often take a “high/low” approach to design :: splurging on some items while thrifting on others. Jen also enjoys helping in color selection and pulling a room together with accessories and a rug.
We are both energetic and creative women on a mission :: to help you get the most out of your living space. We are task oriented and open to lots of ideas and budget scenarios, but we are also opinionated and will help you to make decisions. We have lots of talented local people to recommend to help you finish that project (handymen, painter, custom sewing designer for window treatments). Visit our blog to see some of our “before/after” projects!
Why the name? We wanted to riff off some of our favorite business names that evoke a home or neighborly feeling, because our business is centered around the home. While we were coming up with possible names for the venture, the Dogwood trees were blooming in northern Virginia, and we decided that would be symbolic for the birth of our business. 1970 is a special year for us both – we were both born six weeks apart in 1970!
