This project was a fun one, purely driven by the homeowners’ desire for a large laundry room on the ground level. We took a long and narrow family room, and stole a bit of space from one end, using a well-placed pocket door for access. They’ve got space for hanging clothes, ironing, storing overstock items, even a utility sink. The light streams in and the space is gleaming.

Here’s an image of the space before we annexed it for the laundry. The sofa stayed just where it always was — and the space behind it transformed into a very functional, additional room.
